Amanda Fribley is a UI/UX designer who helps clients elevate their products by asking the right questions to zero in on the right solution. Amanda believes design should focus on creating usable, logical solutions rather than simply focusing on aesthetics.
An award-winning designer with a decade of graphic design experience, Amanda has worked in a variety of industries including healthcare, manufacturing, and media. To add to her design skills, Amanda earned certification in UI/UX design through a 700+ hour program from Springboard. She holds a degree in visual communication from Ball State University.
Outside of design work, Amanda can be found checking out art show openings, walking through area parks, and trying to reach new heights at the bouldering gym.

GalleryPal is a startup wanting to create a mobile app to help visitors to art museums get more out of the experience. According to their research, some visitors leave museums feeling as if they would have had a better experience if they knew a little bit more.

Using a modified version of a Google Ventures design sprint, I took the GalleryPal design brief through the process of mapping, sketching, deciding, prototyping, and testing. The end result was an app that can help museum visitors learn about different aspects of the art they see.

With media, software, apps, games, and more using a subscription model, it can be difficult to keep track of all of the subscriptions we pay each month. We may continue to pay for products or services we no longer use because we don’t even know what we’re paying for. I was presented with a company that offers a product to keep track of subscription fees. The project brief included wireframes of a desktop version of the product, but the current website is not mobile-friendly.

Behavioral Intelligence® Experts provide clients with tools and coaching to help them be at their best. They focus on stress management, goals, decision making, action and accountability for improved performance and productivity.
Although the client’s methods had been proven to lead to results, using The STARR Process© in the form of a mobile app is a new venture for them. They wanted an app that would allow users to use The STARR Process© to accomplish their goals. The client had an existing Figma file of some designs of screens, but the UI had not been fully developed. The app also had never gone through any usability testing. Working with two other UX/UI designers, we were tasked with taking what had been created and leveling it up to a more intuitive, engaging platform.

Through a four-week process of competitor analysis, usability testing, design iterations, and further usability testing, my colleagues and I were able to improve functionality and usability of the BiQ app. The end result is an app that makes sense to users and one they can see value in using.
